Pastor Joe
Pastor Joe McCarty
Pastor Joe was born in Louisville, KY on March 8, 1978.  His father, Rev. Jimmy McCarty, is also a minister and received his training at Francis Asbury Seminary.  During his service in the Evangelical Church's Eastern Conference, he served in a number of Conference churches and planted one in Quakertown.  In 1983, my father would accept assignment as the Associate Pastor to the Everson & Mt Olive Evangelical Churches.

Quakertown, PA is where Pastor Joe spent the majority of his time while growing up.  At the age of 12, Pastor Joe would meet up with an evangelist Adrian Dupries at the Eastern Conference Summer Church Camp.  It was Adrian whose simple faith and sincerity convicted him of his ministerial calling.

On June 20, 1999, Pastor Joe married his wife, April.  In 2001, they would have a daughter Elaina.  Subsequently in 2003, they would have a son Josiah.  Elaina will have completed kindergarten in 2007 and Josiah is preparing to enter preschool.

From 1998-2004, Pastor Joe would serve in various capacities at the Quakertown church, including pastor from 2000-2004.  During this time, he completed his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at Chestnut Hill College near Philadelphia.  He also worked as a programmer/analyst throughout his service in Quakertown.

In September 2004, Pastor Joe and his family moved to Bullskin Township to become the pastor of the Mount Olive Evangelical Church.  In some ways, this was a homecoming since Pastor Joe had attended kindergarten in Everson, PA.  The call was strong and the Lord moved many obstacles to make the transition possible.  It was undoubtedly the will of God.

In addition to pastoring the church, Pastor Joe is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Wesley Biblical Seminary in Jackson, MS.  He will be approximately 2/3 through the degree program by July 2007.  The church has been instrumental in allowing for the opportunity to obtain this advanced degree.

Pastor Joe's call is to pastoral ministry that is servant-driven and hopes to instill this servant attitude into the church at Mount Olive.  Mount Olive is a church with a rich 135 year history of service.  God has placed Mount Olive Church and Pastor Joe together for such a time as this.
